  1. Building a Virtual Testing Environment

Building the Environment

Setup

Make sure all the physical equipment is properly connected physically and you can reach all the ESXI nodes. Set up your VSphere Client to connect to each node, and do any VMotion if you want. After you have everything set up properly, you are ready to begin

Templates

I personally like making a basic template of each ISO I have that will have VMWare tools installed and any software I know I'll need on it.

Begin

To start, I like to first build all my networking and routing. Both within ESXI and my PFSense virtual routers. If I know I need VDS with port mirroring, I set that up before I build my customers. If I know I have three customers, each with their own router, I build three PFSenses each networked properly so they can communicate with each other and they each have the proper IP schema.

Finish

From here, It's all building individual machines to the specifications of your requirement. Google is your best friend here. If you need to know how to build a Domain Controller, SQL Server, PFSense Router, Exchange Server, FactoryIO Server, OpenPLC, etc etc. Google's got you covered.
